What's wrong with chip inductance heating?

We still need to be calm about the chip inductance heating. Don't panic when you hear "heating"! Anyone who has a little junior high school physics foundation should know the law of conservation of energy! When the electric energy passes through the chip inductor, part of it is converted into heat energy, and the chip inductor must generate heat. But there is a limit to this "heat", commonly known as "temperature rise" in the industry. As long as the temperature is within 45 ° C, there is no problem, and there is no need to worry about affecting the performance of the chip inductor; If the temperature rise exceeds 45 degrees, the chip inductance may really have a problem.
There are many reasons for the high heating temperature of the chip inductor. The following common reasons are briefly summarized for analysis and reference:
(1) It may be that the coil resistance of the chip inductor is low, and the heating temperature is too high due to excessive current; If the abnormal heating is caused by this situation, try to solve it by increasing the voltage frequency.
(2) It may be that the selected core powder formula of the chip inductor is not suitable. The core powder formula is very technical, and it is easy to have problems in use or testing when using the inappropriate powder formula; If the powder formula is wrong, the solution is to change the powder formula.
(1) It is possible that the wrong type of chip inductance leads to abnormal heating. There are many types of chip inductors, and it is easy to make mistakes if the communication is not in place in the selection process. The solution to this situation is to re select the model.
(2) It may be a circuit board design defect: this is relatively rare, but it is also possible. If it is a circuit board design defect, the loss will be relatively large. The solution is either to redesign the circuit board or to reformulate the inductance scheme.
